Rest in peace Delhi-dog

This morning when I woke up and my old pup Delhi could no longer walk. She was not eating or drinking. I had to do one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I had to have little miss Del put down. Having been best companions for the last 16 years really reinforced that she was nearly always there from the start of my adult life. I doubt that I know what to do without her. Images to follow soon, for now I'm going to snuggle with the dogs that are still with me.

    1. My heart goes out to you Kate. Having just gone through this myself, I feel your pain. They bring us so much joy, but leave too soon. RIP, Delhi.

  4. I'm so sorry to hear that. It's never easy losing a family member. You were blessed to have Delhi with you for 16 wonderful years.

  5. So very sorry. Growing up, my family raised German Shepherds and there were many we had that I was very close to. My mom had one in particular that we still talk about frequently, my friends remember him well and how amazing he was, and I still feel the sting in my heart from the pain of losing him. My mom could not leave her room for about two weeks after he passed. He was as much a part of our family as any human could be.

  6. Sorry for your loss, Kate. It still brings tears to my eyes to read the title. We also have a german shepard with hip displacia. The same weekend you posted, ours had trouble getting up. I read your post outloud, and my husband replied, "sounds familiar, doesn't it?" It's amazing how attached we get to our pets.
