Books, books, and more books! Fall 2025 Edition

Check out our self-published books!

Explore the Creative Journey: ART2830 - Digital Photo II

For anyone curious about the transformative work we do in ART2830 - Digital Photo II (and our advanced courses ART2840, 2850, 2855), I'm excited to share our latest additions to the collection of artist monographs and photobooks we've been building over the past 2 decades.

I am continually inspired by the students who complete this course—their dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm shine through in every project. These books stand as powerful testaments to their commitment to the creative process and their sustained exploration of meaningful ideas. It's an incredible honor to witness each body of work evolve throughout the semester.

The Process: Students dedicate nearly half of the semester to developing a cohesive body of work that researches and investigates a topic of their choosing.  The first steps are acknowledging that there is in fact a "process" to creative practice and that it is trustworthy. Everything that the student needs to know about their work is revealed by the work and the portfolios begin to lead the student creators to their subsequent steps in solving the problem at hand. Together, we work through modeling and practicing constructive criticism, curating/editing, organizing, shaping, and laying out their photographs into compelling book formats. The projects are typically published through Blurb.com or, depending on the student's vision, hand-crafted as unique artist books.

See below for selected information on current and past student books.

Enjoy!
